/00 Terminal 400

This is where risk is allowed.

Terminal 400 is a public facility for experimental systems. Here proof-of-concept builds, interaction studies and mechanisms that would not survive in production are built and kept in service, at the disposal of the whole population.

Access from the city · hours of operation: uninterrupted

Stations

Each station is a mechanism with its explanation. The route runs through all of them, and the color marks each one's kind.

/01Interaction study

Sumaré Station, Metro — São PauloPhoto: PreSuffix, CC BY-SA 4.0

400 is the HTTP code for a request the server does not understand. Terminal 400 occupies the interval between what was asked and what was understood: the place of irregular requests, of what does not fit in a product, built by hand so that its workings may be understood.

Every station exposes its mechanism to the public, together with a description of its operation and its operating records.
